Marionville
Betty Jean (Jennings) Jones, "Nan", of Marionville, Missouri passed away on March 30th, 2025 at the age of 90 in Mercy Hospital. She was born June 22, 1934 in Rockport, Missouri to her parents Cecil and Helen (Stroud) Jennings, the fourth of eight children.
She was united in marriage to William (Bill) Jones on October 9th, 1950 and enjoyed 59 1/2 years of a wonderful partnership until his death April 13, 2010. Betty and Bill had three children of their own, Linda, Roberta and Rodney. They welcomed Betty's two brothers, Jackie and Gary and her sister Pat into their home and finished raising them as their own after her Mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Later on their grandson, Jeremy lived in their home after his father passed away and was a tremendous support to Betty when her husband passed. Betty's granddaughter, Julie and her son Brayden lived with her for over three years. Brayden and Betty had a special bond and he brought great joy to her.
Betty gave her heart to Jesus, was filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized as a very young mother. She joyfully served the Lord in many ways throughout her life as a pastor's wife, gospel singer, Sunday School teacher and prayer warrior. She wrote many gospel songs, sang, and played the guitar and the piano. It was her great honor to teach her Sunday School children about Jesus and taught them many songs, including their favorite, "Jesus Loves the Little Children." Betty had a great passion for her family and loved all children. Betty was a hard worker all of her life. She was a master seamstress, an avid reader, and a wonderful cook.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, her dear son Rodney, her brothers Jim, Bob, Donnie, and Tom and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Betty is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Linda Eutsler (David), Roberta French (Ron), two brothers and their wives, Jack Jennings (Karen), Gary Jennings (Velvet), her sister and husband Patricia Jones (Charles), and three sisters-in-law Madge Jennings, Phyllis Carver, and Patti Jones. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Katina McKeever (Dalton), Tonya Hammons (Jason), Rodney Jones (Chrissy), Jeremy Jones (Jazmyne), Jessica Kinkead (Andy), and Julie Jones; 18 great grandchildren, Skylar, Makayla, Samantha, Mariah, Michelle, Rodney Jr., Sawyer, Harper, Jett, Brayden, Ivan, William, Dusty, Nick, Zach, Zaden, Connor, and Jason; 11 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
At her request there was no public funeral or visitation; the burial at Galena Cemetery was private. Services were under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane, MO.
