Billy Frank Long, 61 years old, departed this life August 30th, 2025.

Bill was born on September 16th, 1963, to George (Sonny) Long & Billie (Sondra) Chastine.

Growing up, Bill was raised on a farm made to work and do chores. At a very early age, he worked for Larry & Terry May hauling hay. If there was any free time, it was spent on the James River. As a teenager, eager to be a part of the oil boom in Oklahoma, Bill used Sondra's birthday to make himself eligible. There, he met his future wife, Shelley Hensal, at the sonic drive-in and the rest, as they say, is history.

Bill began his career at Journagan Construction where he started with a shovel in his hand. With hard work and devotion, he would ultimately climb the ladder to general manager of the company. Having given so much time and dedication to his career for most of his life, retirement was not easy.

With deep family roots to the James River, he would spend most of his time hunting and fishing here. He also enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, canning, a good prank, and cussin' & discussin' with friends.

Preceding him in death is his father, Sonny Long & step-father, Lee Weeks.

Survivors include mother, Sondra Weeks of Springfield, daughter Sasha & husband Zach Dickens of Clever, son Derek Long & wife Annika of Melbourne Australia, three grand-daughters, Rhaya & Wrenna Dickens, and Eloise Long, sister Cheryl Hill & family, & wife Silvia.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Stumpff Funeral Chapel, Crane, MO. Memorial services will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. in Stumpff Funeral Chapel, Crane, MO.
