Coy Delano Smith, the son of Clyde and Betty Smith, was born in Reeds Spring; Stone County, MO on March 8, 1939.  He passed away at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 9, 2023, after a long illness at his home in Reeds Spring.

Upon graduation from Reeds Spring High School in 1957, Coy enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served with distinction in Korea.  Upon discharge from the military, Coy moved to Louisiana where he remained until 2018 when he returned to Reeds Spring.  He was a member of the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church at Hideaway where he often played and sang music for the congregation.

He is survived by two daughters, Anita Hebert and her husband, Kenneth of LA, and Theresa Moore and her husband, Steve of AR, six grandchildren, one brother, Lavoy J. Smith of Blue Eye, MO, and a sister, Karlene S. McGill and her husband, Dr. Robert McGill also of Reeds Spring, MO.

A memorial service is set for 12:00 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church at Hideaway, Galena, MO.  Interment will take place in the Yocum Pond Cemetery, Reeds Spring, MO.
