Dixie Lee
Garrison
Sep 11, 1946 — Oct 1, 2024
Lampe
Dixie Lee Garrison, known to many as "Nan", was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her extraordinary 78 years of life. She passed away peacefully in the late afternoon of Tuesday, October 1st, 2024.
Dixie had a long and full life defined by her strong faith in the Lord, and her love and passion for her family. She was born on September 11th, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas to two loving parents, Donald and Wanda Cain. Her parents owned multiple businesses in Kansas, the most prominent of which was known as Foundation, Inc. Don ran the hands-on operations of the business while Wanda managed the administrative tasks of the office.
Dixie spent her younger years in Wichita, and around the age of 13, the Cain family made the move to Missouri. Dixie began middle school in Blue Eye, where she later graduated from Blue Eye High School. It wasn't long after the move that Dixie met the love of her life, Wesley Don Garrison. He spotted a beautiful, young brunette at the Dairy Queen in the summer of 1959.
Don and Dixie married in 1963 at the First Baptist Church in Blue Eye, Arkansas. Shortly thereafter, they gave birth to their four daughters. They largely spent their marriage living in a home, hand-built by Don on Highway H in Lampe. After many years of success in their careers, they were able to build their dream home, with Dixie's dream closet, on West 86 Highway in Lampe, which has been an open door to many family members and friends over the years.
Dixie started her career as Don's right hand in all of his business endeavors, from real estate to Team National, and everything in between. She also took a job working at the Stone County prosecutor's office, and finally transitioned to working for the state as a court clerk for several judges, from which she later retired in 2008.
As previously mentioned, in addition to her work at the courthouse, Dixie worked alongside Don during their unmatched success in Team National. Don and Dixie started working Team National in 1997, and became the first couple to hit the highest level at that time in the company (Platinum) in only 3.5 months. Their combined partnership and ability to connect with others allowed them to thrive, excel, and set the standard for everyone in Team National to follow. Their strengths complemented each other so well that their triumph in Team National was recognized with the prestigious honor of being featured on the cover of Success Magazine.
Dixie was the oldest of six children. She leaves behind her 2 sisters, Cyndi Squires of Scottsdale, AZ, Sonja (Keith) Barrier of Wichita, KS, 2 brothers Bud (Sheryl) Cain of Wichita, KS, Duane (Kim) Cain of Wichita, KS, her husband, Don Garrison of Lampe, Mo, her daughters: Tamra (Steve) Patton of Lampe, Mo, Talyia (Jason) Leeper of Ozark, Mo, and Tabitha (Jason Brinton) Garrison, of Lampe, Mo. She has 7 grandchildren Dustin Newman, Kirstin (Jerrit) Davis, Whitney (Micah) Ancheta, Trae Patton, Hunter Garrison, Kohnnar Patton, and Kai Brinton. She has 8 great grandchildren, Ganton Newman, Trenton Newman, Reichen Ancheta, Emery Ancheta, Kierra Davis, Sloan Ancheta, Jovi Ancheta, Jaxton Davis, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Don and Wanda Cain, 1 sister Donna Turner, and 1 daughter, Tiffany Donn Garrison.
Dixie spent her time in pursuit of the many things she loved and held dear to her heart. She was so proud of all of her grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. She loved to brag on them and hear about the exciting and mundane of their lives. She deeply loved the Lord and spent her time reading and listening to the Bible, in prayer, and listening to Amanda Grace. Last, but far from least, she loved her husband, Don, so dearly. They accomplished so much together—they built a family together, they travelled the country together, they watched "The Five" together, and they had many-a-lucky-nights in the casino together. Their love for each other will continue to run deep.
In lieu of flowers, you can donate to the charity that Dixie most frequently donated to-- The Pregnancy Lifeline in Branson, Missouri. Dixie donated to many charities and ministries; Other organizations that Dixie has chosen to support financially include St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, The Samaritan's Purse Organization, and TunnelToTowers. On behalf of the family, we thank you all for your contributions.
