On Friday, October 1, 2021, Elsa Josephine Barbati Erickson, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 93.

Elsa was born on March 21, 1928, in Pievepelago, Italy to Phillip and Lina (Mordini) Barbati.  They traveled to Ellis Island in 1930 and made their way to Macon County and Keota, MO before settling in Madrid, IA as a coal mining family.

Elsa was a loving mother to Gregg, Lynette and Fred.  She was part of the Unity Church family in Des Moines and Honolulu.  Later in life she acted on her adventurous spirit and resided in Hawaii, New York, Florida, and back to Hawaii, back to Iowa and then to Table Rock Lake, MO in 2020.

Elsa loved to travel and thoroughly enjoyed her trips to Italy to visit family, loved being a local tourist to the Hawaiian Islands, following the Yankees, road trips to Table Rock Lake, and celebrating her 90 ^th birthday in Las Vegas.  She loved jewelry and getting dressed up.  She enjoyed horse racing, a good baseball game, boat rides, movies, and enjoyed the Arts, especially classical music, and ballet.  She found peace being outside watching the birds, clouds, ocean waves, and sunsets.  She will be greatly missed by those who loved her!
