Ernestine Hammons, Ash Grove, MO, daughter of Ernest and Gladys (White) Bowling, was born on June 14, 1936 in Galena, MO, and departed this life on November 18, 2019, at the age of 83.

Ernestine was a lifelong resident of the area who worked as a seamstress at Haggles Garment Factory. She was a member of a quilting club and the New Dawn United Pentecostal Church, Aurora, MO.

Ernestine was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Hammons; one son, Stephen Hammons; daughter, Carol Sue Hammons; brother, Bob Bowling and sisters, Maxine Hale and Ilene Edwards.

Survivors include: one son, James Hammons and his wife, Debra of Ash Grove, MO; two brothers, Dewey Bowling of Galena, MO and Richard Bowling of Galena, MO; five sisters, Joan Crane of Lebanon, MO, Patsy Asher of Niangua, MO, Sheryl Sawyer of Elsey, MO, Linda Medley of Lebanon, MO and Doris Thompson of Reeds Spring, MO; six grandchildren, Shaun Finnegan, Tina Fleck, Rachel Fleck, Kayla Hammons, Dakota Hammons and Steven Hammons; nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2019 in Stumpff Funeral Chapel, Crane, MO. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Mickey Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Crane Community Cemetery, Crane, MO under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane, MO.
