Gilbert Stovall, Reeds Spring, MO, son of Lowell and Bessie (Spurgeon) Stovall, was born November 29, 1934, in Oak Hill, MO and departed this life on February 22, 2023, at the age of 88.

Gil had been a resident of the area for over 50 years, moving here from Owensville, MO.  Gil was a self-employed carpenter, along with his sons, building many of the churches and businesses in the area.

Gilbert was very selfless and loved his family and dogs.  He enjoyed Table Rock Lake, crappie fishing, hunting and going to Florida in the winters to fish.  He also spent a lot of time at the dirt track races watching his sons and grandson race.

Gil was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dewight Stovall and sister, Peggy Grubaugh.

Survivors include: his wife of 68 years, Thelma Stovall of Reeds Spring, MO; two sons, Rodney Stovall and wife, Jane of Billings, MO and Randy Stovall and wife, Darla of Reeds Spring, MO; sister, Pat Pounds of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren, Natalie Brown and husband, Robert of Reeds Spring, MO, Jesse Stovall and wife, Jaime of Billings, MO, Heather Cheek of Houston, MO, Philip Cheek and wife, Jennifer of Olympia, WA and Brandon Williams of Fort Riley, KS; four great grandchildren, Jett Stovall, Marissa Slavins, Marainna Hatcher and Austin Cheek; four great great grandchildren, Kayce Andrews, Emma Slavins, Elijah Slavins and Oliver Cheek and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation for Gil will be Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Stumpff Funeral Chapel Kimberling City, MO 1:00-2:00 p.m. with the service following with Pastor Dale Grubaugh officiating.  Burial will be in Philibert Cemetery Kimberling City, MO.
