Harold Dean Bloomquist

Harold (Harry) Dean Bloomquist, 91, Kimberling City, Missouri, died on December 5, 2025, at Shepherd of the Hills Care Center in Branson, Missouri.

Born October 13, 1934, in Boxholm, Iowa, Harry was one of seven children born to Arnold M. and Mable Olson Bloomquist.  On October 17, 1964, he married Lennice (Lennie) Jones.  She died on February 25, 2016.

Harry graduated from Boone High School in 1954 and served in the U.S. Army from 1957-59 in Fort Benning, Georgia.  He was the service manager at Modern Appliance in Boone, Iowa, before purchasing the business in 1970.  He and Lennie owned and operated this appliance and TV store for 27 years before retiring to Kimberling City in 1998.  He was a 60 year member of the Elks and a current member of Elks Lodge No. 2505.  Harry had the well-earned reputation of being able to fix anything and was always willing to use his talents to help others.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers Dennis (Sharon) of Boone, Iowa, and Keith (Mary) of Marshalltown, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Charles and Milford, and sisters JoAnn Grimm and Phyllis Reed.

The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025 at the Stumpff Funeral Home in Kimberling City, MO, with Pastor Jerry Jenkins officiating.   Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery, Kimberling City.

Memorials may be given to the Veterans' Program at Elks Lodge 2505 or to St. Croix Hospice.
