Janice Kerans Hicks, daughter of Eugene and Hazel (Stewart) Mease, was born on September 21, 1942 in Reeds Spring, MO, and departed this life on December 6, 2023, at the age of 81.

Janice was a lifelong resident of the area and had worked as a home health care provider. She received her salvation October 2, 2023 and was baptized October 13, 2023,  at the age of 81.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ted Kerans; second husband, Edman Hicks; one son, Marty Hicks; grandson in-law, Tyler Phipps; three brothers, Frank Mease, G.C. Mease and Harold Mease; three sisters, Rosella Butler, Phyllis Wiley and Jo Ann Hicks.

Survivors include: three sons, Rocky Kerans and his wife, Tammie of Galena, MO, Scotty Kerans and his wife, Roxanna of Galena, MO and Eddie Hicks of Springfield, MO; daughter, Natasha Hicks and her partner, Gareth Van-Orman of Mississippi; two brothers, Jim Mease and Ronnie Mease; three sisters, Lorene Lowry, Naomi Combs and Judy Maggard; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2023 in Stumpff Funeral Chapel, Crane, MO. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Roxanna Kerans officiating. Burial will be in Galena Cemetery, Galena, MO under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane, MO.
