John Bailey, Galena, MO, son of Howard and Elsie (Cox) Bailey, was born on August 03, 1936, in Galena, MO and departed this life on June 13, 2025, at the age of 88.

John served his country in the US Army, was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Galena, MO.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Elsie Cox; one son, Jeffery Bailey; one sister, Wilma Bailey; one grandson, Justin Rice and a granddaughter, Jentry Bailey.

Survivors include: his wife, Connie Bailey; two daughters, Toni Whitted and her, husband, Clarke and Johnna Rice and her husband, Mike; daughter in law, Amie Bailey; brothers, Howard Bailey, Jr. and Joe Bailey and his wife, Donna; sisters, Vera Baker and her husband, Jerry, Brenda May and her husband, Kerry and Glenda Holcomb and her husband, David; seven grandchildren, Lindsay Powell (Braden), Craig Rice, Kristen Lebow (Randall), Chris Rice (Danielle), Jared Bailey (Megan), Derek Whitted (Stacy) and Brooke Armstrong (Drew); Danielle Rice, spouse of Justin Rice; thirteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025 in Stumpff Funeral Chapel, Crane, MO. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Rick Toney and Michael Mohler officiating. Burial will be in Ponce Cemetery, Ponce De Leon, MO under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane, MO.
