Joseph R
Schomaker
Oct 9, 1954 — Aug 14, 2023
Lampe
The Schomaker family of Lampe, MO, is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Joseph "Joe" Richard Schomaker on August 14th, 2023, at the age of 68.
Born on October 9th, 1954, in Cincinnati, OH, Joe was the cherished son of the late Phyllis Jean (Brand) and Joseph William Schomaker. After completing his education at University of Southern California, he led a successful and varied career in fields including insurance and business
administration. He found love in St. Louis, MO, marrying Lisa Beaner on June 15th, 1985. Joe and Lisa completed their family with the adoption of their daughter, Cati, in 1996. The trio moved to Lampe, MO, with the construction of their forever home.
Joe was a culinary enthusiast who relished providing delicious meals for family and anyone else who found themselves at the dinner table. A lover of sports, especially baseball, Joe could often be found rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals with his family on a sunny afternoon. He was a
regular on Table Rock Lake, enjoyed photography and gardening, and was known to strike up conversations with anyone and everyone, truly embodying the spirit of community.
He proved his dedication to service through his affiliation with the Knights of Columbus, where he once held the esteemed position of Grand Knight. Furthermore, Joe was deeply involved with the Southern Stone County Food Pantry, spearheading numerous events to raise funds and
support for those in need.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa (Beaner) Schomaker; their daughter, Catherine Schomaker, and her fiancée, Claude Gasana. He will be fondly remembered by his mother-inlaw, Murial Beaner, siblings-in-law Craig Beaner, Regina Mahlin, Tracy Beaner, and a large extended family of many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Special mention to Joe's cherished friends, Scott and Peggy Temkin, whose friendship enriched his life in countless ways.
He was predeceased by his parents, Phyllis Jean and Joseph William Schomaker; father-in-law, Lloyd Beaner; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Alan Beaner.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 26th, 2023, at Our Lady of the Cove Catholic Church in Kimberling City, MO. Visitation is from 10am to 11:30am. A short prayer service will be held at 11:30 am with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to Southern Stone County Food Pantry to continue Joe's legacy of service. Please place cash donations in the Poor Box in the Church vestibule or mail to: Southern Stone County Food Pantry, 20 Kimberling Blvd, Kimberling
City, MO, 65686.
The Schomaker family would like to express their deep gratitude to everyone who supported and stood by them during these trying times.
