Judith Ann
Elston
Aug 15, 1941 — Dec 12, 2021
Kimberling City
Judith "Judy" Ann Elston of Kimberling City, Missouri was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She passed away suddenly on the morning of December 12, 2021 at the age of 80.
Born in North Kansas City, Missouri on August 15, 1941 to Martha and Lloyd Yates, Judy grew into a remarkable woman with decades of achievements ornamenting her colorful tree of life. She became a mother in the 1960s, an employee of the globally renowned J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency in the 1970s, founder of the Missouri Chapter of the National Head Injury Foundation and a licensed pilot in the 1980s, and, at the age of 50 years young, embarked on a path to become one of the Table Rock Lake area's pioneering women entrepreneurs and million dollar-selling real estate agents in the 1990s. On top of all this, she was a fabulous cook, painter, and gardener. Judy was a ball of energy and a body in motion.
Judy's full heart and personal magnetism were her greatest gifts to those lucky enough to be in her company. One friend will "always love and appreciate her for treating me like family," while her daughter, Carrie, lovingly called her the family "glue." And though she could be a tad bossy (which you need to be to be a successful entrepreneur, right?), another friend recalled with a laugh how Judy would proclaim in disbelief, with a twinkle in her eye, "How can anyone not like ME!?!"
In the 2000s, Judy put the finishing touches on her best life with her husband and eternal love, David. It is during these sunny afternoons at the lake house, and on their RV adventures, that she found her greatest peace and happiness, and deepened her relationship with the Lord. With David, she gave unselfishly of her devoutness, love, home, hearth, and time. She was active in Bible study and her fellowship community, attended church rain, snow, or shine, hosted delicious family and progressive dinners, and held to the principle "The only life worth living is a Christ-centered life," and she exemplified that. She further gave of herself as an 8-year member of the Skaggs Regional Hospital (now Cox Medical Center) Board in Branson to provide an important community voice for healthcare, and she devoted her energies to social services provided by Christian Associates in Kimberling City and Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center in Branson West.
Judy's warm glow is already missed, yet her faith, sense of humor, delicious meals, maternal care, and love will not be forgotten. She is survived by her loving husband David, her children Bart, Eric, Ann, Carrie, Frank, Nancy, and Jeanene, their wonderful children, their children's children, numerous loving nieces and nephews, and countless other friends and family she's touched throughout her blessed life. She is preceded in death by her big brothers Robert and Richard.
A visitation service for Judy is scheduled from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 5:00pm, this Thursday, December 16th at Hope Fellowship Church in Branson West, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center 11016 State Hwy 76, Branson West MO 65737 or Pregnancy Lifeline 19621 MO-413 Branson West MO 65737.
