Kim D. Lansford was born on August 9, 1955, in Marshall, MO, and died peacefully at her home in Galena, MO, on July 2, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Lansford, her parents, Carol and Eugene Gerschefske, and her sister, Kathy Hankins.

Kim is survived by her brother, Kevin Gerschefske and his wife, Shelley and a large circle of friends, educators and musicians who were inspired by her.

Kim received her masters degree in education from MSU.  She was a reading specialist at Reeds Spring Elementary School and was in charge of writing grants for the Title IX program.  Her passion was traditional music and she was an accomplished musician in guitar and piano.  She and her husband, Jim, entertained many all over the Ozarks and throughout the country.  She and Jim always enjoyed teaching others the music they loved so much.

Cremation was under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Kimberling City, MO. A Celebration of Kim's life will be held on September 3rd at the Rock House in Reeds Spring, MO.  Those wanting to make a contribution in Kim's memory can do so through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, benefiting the Kim D. Lansford Scholarship Fund.
