Lavern Bliss, of Reeds Spring, Missouri, son of Kenneth and Joan (Kenyon) Bliss, was born on February 25, 1965, in Goessel, Kansas, and departed this life on January 26, 2026, at the age of 60.

Known as "Vern" to his many friends, he was proficient in many trades, including auto body work, automotive mechanics, and carpentry. Vern was a very generous and talented person who would take on just about anything to help someone out. He had lived in the Reeds Spring area for the past fifteen years, coming from Harrison, Arkansas, where he operated a body shop and started a family. Prior to that, he lived and worked in Mound City, Kansas, where he was well known for his dirt track racing skills. Vern grew up and attended school in Marion, Kansas.
Vern was truly one of a kind and the greatest dad, husband, brother, uncle, and son any family could be blessed with. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Lavern was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Bliss.

Survivors include his wife, Leah Bliss of Reeds Spring, Missouri; son, Tyler Bliss of Branson, Missouri; daughter, Paige Bliss of Reeds Spring, Missouri; mother, Joan Ply of Pyatt, Arkansas; two brothers, Ken Bliss of Harrison, Arkansas, and John Adams of Pyatt, Arkansas; three sisters, Patty Schale of Peabody, Kansas, June Bliss of Woodstock, Georgia, and Chrissy Anderson of Yellville, Arkansas; along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Kimberling City, Missouri.
