Michael Hembree

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Mike Hembree of Galena, Missouri, who died after a battle with cancer on July 11, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Reeds Spring, MO on December 2, 1945, he was the son of Alden and Wanda Hembree. Mike enjoyed many hobbies over the years. The most recent favorite was playing slots at Downstream Casino with his favorite person Clara Isaacs. He also loved golf and fishing.

He will be warmly remembered by his partner of many years Clara Isaacs; his daughters Shannon Stiltner and Noelle Gass their husbands Mike Stiltner and Tom Gass who he lovingly referred to as “pretty great favorite sons-in-law they are both my favorites ”; his granchildren, Celia Stiltner, Tully Gass, Trik Gass and Sawyer Gass; a sister, Laura Lewallen; two brothers, Max Hembree with his wife Cindy, and Kevin Hembree with his wife Barbara, all of Reeds Spring and many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Luther and Thelma Arnold, parents Wanda and Alden Hembree and Aunt Judy Arnold Spradling.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Thursday, July 16 at 4:00 p.m. at Stumpff Funeral Chapel in Kimberling City. Family and friends are invited to attend and share their favorite memories of him.

Cremation was under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Kimberling City, MO.
