Obituary

Patricia Lynne Lund “Patty” July 23, 1948 – May 12, 2026

The kindest person I’ve ever known has been called home to our Lord and Savior. Patty is the daughter of Victor and Betty Ursin. She is survived by husband Loren Lund, son Mark Lund (Tara), daughter Jessica McCall (Douglas), grandchildren Tyler Lund, Morgan Lund, Emerson McCall, Madeline McCall and Laurel McCall, her 4 younger brothers Victor (Jan), Jack (Nancy), Martin, and Daniel (Joyce), 9 nieces and nephews and an aunt.

Patty was born in Minneapolis where her parents, both veterans, graduated from the University of Minnesota. Soon after Patty’s birth they relocated to Superior, Wisconsin where her father worked as a high school teacher. The family built a cabin on Sims Lake where they spent the summers as she grew up.

Patty’s career started when she followed a friend to Denver to work as a secretary at Paine Weber. After several years she transferred to Miami but soon moved to Minneapolis to work at the accounting firm of Main Lafrentz and Co. as the administrative assistant for the partner in charge. In 1979, she met a new staff accountant who became the love of her life. We married the following June and shared almost 46 wonderful years together. She retired after 33 years with the firm and the following day we moved to Branson to live the retirement of our dreams.

The last several years have been somewhat challenging after Patty was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2018. She was accepted into hospice in 2020. As her faculties declined we kept finding ways to compensate until a few days before her passing. As weak as she had become, she hung on until Mark and Tara showed up on Mother’s Day to say goodbye. As they were driving home to Minnesota, Jessica drove down from Nebraska and helped me through my final hours with Patty. What a Blessing to have children.

I’d like to thank Pam Hunt and Evelyn Bryant, for sitting with, caring for, and loving Patty, allowing me to play some golf and take my mind off of Patty’s decline. I’d also like to thank Jami Clemens, a hospice aide who cared for and loved Patty in a way that melted my heart. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association or St. Croix Hospice. For donations to St. Croix Hospice, checks can be made out to the Hospice Support Foundation, and should be mailed to St. Croix Hospice at 105 W. Sherman Way, Nixa Missouri, 65714. Suit 110

A celebration of Patty’s life is planned for Saturday, June 20th, at 11:00, at Kimberling City Methodist Church (across from Harter House) with a luncheon following at the Stonebridge Grill. Please text Loren at 417-231-2520 if you plan to attend so we can get an estimate for the luncheon.
