Ralph Bernard Looney was born September 13, 1944, in Burlington, IA, to Bernard George Looney and Halcyon Opal Julien Looney. He lost one brother, Mickey, in 1963, to heart disease.
He graduated from Ralston High School, Ralston, NE, in 1962 and Wayne State College in 1966.
His first marriage produced 3 children: Tiffany Dawn, Noelle Lynn and Todd Mickey. On October 1, 1977, he married Mary Lou Rowan Pick and blended in Rebecca Ann and Brenda Louise.
From this blended union came 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and now 1 great-great-grandchild down Tiffany's lineage.
Ralph had 12 first cousins he is very close to and then the Rowan family he married into gave him 38 more. Doing traveling and visiting with them all was the love of his life.
He worked for many years for Elliott Construction, owned by his father. They built high voltage sub-stations all over the country. In 1986, he went to work for Allgeier Martin and Associates, Joplin, Mo. He became an on-site job inspector representing the engineers. He retired in 2007.
Mary Lou and Ralph both loved to travel and set records where they headed to. Cousins Kathi and Jerry Marrs were usually with them. Many great memories were made.
The Ralston Class of 1962 was special to him as they gathered each year after their 50th year out of High School. Ralph chaired the Mickey Looney Team Spirit Scholarship after the class of 1962 reinstalled it at Ralston High School. It was given for 8 years after Mickey's death in 1963.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and Mickey, many special friends and family.
He loved all sports, especially those Nebraska Cornhuskers, his Keyna Missions trip, his family and Mary Lou's, and mostly the Lord Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Lou Looney, and all 5 children.
In lieu of flowers, he chose Mickey Looney's Team Spirit Scholarship thru Ralston High School in Ralston, Nebraska or His Living Water Projects, PO Box 657, Harrison, AR. 72602.
