Robert Eugene
Clines
Jul 18, 1963 — Mar 8, 2025
Willard
Robert Eugene Clines born July 18, 1963, in Galena, MO to Larry & Betty Clines. Met and married the love of his life wife Megan on July 1, 1983. Dad to Amanda Richards (Chris), Josh Vierheller and Cory Clines (Amanda). Papa to Addyson Vierheller and Aubree and Cole Clines. Grandpa Robert to Ryan Richards. Sibling to Larry Clines (Becky) and Robin Eubanks (Keith). Preceding him in death were his grandparents Adrian and Alice Clines, Floyd and Alice Greenway, and his father Larry Clines. Robert graduated from Galena High School in 1981. He spent most of his 20s and 30s driving and owning big trucks. His dream truck was a Maroon Extended Cab 379 Pete with as much chrome as one might possibly put in, on, or around a semi. He took such meticulous care of that truck that you could literally eat off the floor. With the rising cost of diesel in the late 90s he decided he was done with the trucking business and became a heavy equipment operator following in the footsteps of his grandfather Floyd and father Larry. Robert's passion was playing in the dirt. There wasn't a piece of equipment that he couldn't operate with precision. In 2015, after the birth of his first grandchild, he sustained an on the job injury that left him permanently disabled with a brain injury. Unfortunately he was never the same after that and struggled daily with the long term physical effects. He spent the next 10 years being the best Papa he could be. He and granddaughter Addyson had an unbreakable bond. He loved putting her on the bus of a morning and being there to greet her when she got come. He made lasting memories teaching Addy and Aubree to ride bikes. They would spend countless hours under his supervision chalking butterfly families on the driveway. Robert was the self-appointed neighborhood watch, welcoming committee and traffic police. He would patrol the streets of his neighborhood with the grandkids on the golf cart making sure it was safe for all the children. If people were speeding down the street, he would stand at the end of the driveway yelling at them to slow down. He showed his love by being generous with his time helping his neighbors whether it be mowing their yard, blowing the leaves or cleaning out gutters. Although he was a man of few words, he never met a stranger. He hated technology and changing times. Learning how to operate a new cell phone was always quite the adventure. He would sit and mutter under his breath about there being something wrong with the phone when everyone knew it was operator error. He constantly worried about the world his grandchildren would grow up in. He loved to fish Stockton Lake with his wife, son Cory and favorite son-in-law Chris. They logged hundreds of hours in the boat chasing the white bass and wall-eye. There were many summer weekends with the family and close friends on the lake. In 2019 he and Megan bought some land by the lake and he poured his blood, sweat and tears into working on that property. It had always been his dream to own some land and it showed in the transformation. It went from forest to beautiful landscape. He loved to take the grandkids fishing for catfish in the pond or just riding the trails on the golf cart. Robert had a gruff exterior but if you took the time to get to know him, you quickly found out he was a teddy bear with a huge heart. He was one of the hardest working men ever known. After the passing of his father in 2023, he spent significant time helping his mom with all the manly chores mowing, weed eating or just whatever she needed. His untimely passing has left a huge void in the lives of his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Per his wife and his children, it will just never be the same. His legacy will live on the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him. Until we see you again, we love you and will miss you to eternity.
