Reeds Spring
Robert Edgar Richardson, Reeds Spring, MO, son of Alvah E. and Fay (Browning) Richardson, was born January 5, 1934, in Cloudcroft, NM and on May 13, 2024, at the age of 90 he gained his heavenly wings but his spirit lives on in the hearts of his beloved family.
Robert married Diane Wernel in Springfield, MO on November 27, 1961, recently celebrating their 62nd anniversary.
Robert's parents built and opened Sportsman's One Stop on the corner of Highway 13 and OO Highway in the late 1950's. He partnered with his parents in Sportman's until 1963 when he moved on to new endeavors. Robert later founded Mountaineer Bow Company in the mid 1960's. This was his true passion. He carried many patents on the recurve archery bow and he strived to have the best bow out there. Many of his bows won multiple state championships. Years after that in 1990 he founded Richardson Exteriors which he operated with his son Chris until his retirement in the early 2000's.
Robert had an immense love for his family and he relished every moment spent with them creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come. His legacy will forever be remembered through the close-knit family he leaves behind.
Besides family he found great joy in his time spent hunting. He often reminisced about his 49 years of consecutive hunting trips to the mountains of Colorado. He took great pride in sharing stories that included his dad, brothers and many hunting buddies such as, Gerald Loveland, Ray Dean Cox, Jim Holt, Jerry Adams, Buddy Martin, Sandy Sanders and Doc Caddell just to name just a few.
Robert was proceeded in death by his parents Alvah and Fay Richardson; two brothers, Jimmy and Gerald Richardson; great grandson by choice, Tyler Shearburn.
Robert leaves behind his wife, Diane Richardson, son, Chris Richardson, daughter, Lori Hartman and her husband Mike, brother, Donnie Richardson and his wife Ann, sister, Linda Baker, four grandchildren; Jessica Davis and her fiance Dan, Courtney Kirkpatrick and her husband Courtney, Tiffany Richardson and Gavin Davis and his fiance Makayla, eight great grandchildren; Deven, Hali, Ayden, Chloe, Caiden, Caydee, Jaxon and Louella, grandchildren and great grandchildren by choice; Deanna and Maverick and a host of other family and friends.
