Obituary

Born on October 8th 1938. Her parents were Kurt and Doris Schoolman who were German immigrants that settled in Peoria, Illinois. Her siblings included Albert, Erna, Anita, John, Esther, Martha, Robert and Maryanne. She is survived by Mike and Mitzi Barnes and their daughter Ashley. Also, Steve and Leta Barnes with their children and step children Baylor and Brooklyn Barnes, Whitney Millkin and Chadd Hohl.

She married and was a devoted wife to Loren Barnes. They married on February  15, 1959. On March 2nd 2012 Loren passed on and was laid to rest at the Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Ruth remarried on June 24th, 2016 to Chuck Erbach until his passing. Though their time was short together, they shared love and companionship.

In 1978 Loren and Ruth along with Mike and Steve started on an adventure to buy Arrowhead Resort. On this endeavor they met many tremendous and loving friends that became very much part of the extended family. They always looked  forward to the new season to reconnect with the "family". Loren and Ruth's  extended family were very much an integral part of them and who they were.

Her greatest devotions were to her family, the New Apostolic Church and her extended family. Everyone she met always seemed to become part of the "family". She was fondly called "The Energizer Bunny" because there was always room for one more be it physically, spiritually or emotionally. Her greatest gift and joy was to touch the hearts of everyone she met. She was also touched by those who came into her life. Ruth was more interested in collecting more friends and family than collecting material "things".

Ruth's celebration of life memorial will be held at Westside Christian Church 537 W Elm St Republic Missouri 65738 at 11:00 Saturday June 22 nd. She will be placed in the Veterans Memorial Wall Monday June 24th next to Loren at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, an offering box will be placed for your generosities. Proceeds will go to The New Apostolic Church.

In the most loving of memories,

The Barnes' Family
