Sandra Kaye Downen, Reeds Spring, MO, daughter of Lester and Evelyn (Puckett) Haynes, was born December 20, 1954 in Springfield, MO, and departed this life on March 13, 2023, at the age of 68.

Sandy was a very special lady, always smiling and a friend to all, but most of all she loved Jesus!  Sandy and her husband, Roy, have lived in the area for eight years. Before retiring she had worked as an aircraft inspector for 23 years at G. E. Aircraft in Arkansas City, KS.  And before that she had worked 20 years for Graves Drugs, also in Arkansas City.  Among her hobbies she enjoyed making jewelry and was an avid garage saler!  She was a member of New Testament Christian Church in Reeds Spring, MO.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Lee Simkins.

Survivors include: her husband, Roy Downen of Reeds Spring, MO; daughter, Michelle Kelley and husband, Allen of Winfield, KS; step-daughter, Tammy Downen of Andover, KS; sister, Joane Preciado and husband, Chano of Amarillo, TX; six grandchildren, Shelby, Garrett, Colton, Jacob, Kayliana and Kasyn; six great grandchildren; her buddy and fur baby, J.J. and a host of other family and many many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 15, 2:00 p.m. at New Testament Christian Church, Reeds Spring, MO.  Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home Kimberling City, MO.
