Steven Wesley DeLong was born on January 9, 1948, in Lake city, IA to Ruth (Poulson) and Paul DeLong. Steve passed away December 30, 2023, at Cox South, Springfield, MO.

Steve retired after twenty-five years from the Army National Guard. He was an active member of the Cape Fair Fraternal Order of Eagles and held an Officer Position of Chairman of the Trustees for many years. Steve's volunteer work was a constant in life helping many different communities and organizations by volunteering his time and love. He loved college football and basketball, especially the Iowa Hawkeye's. He will be greatly missed and always loved dearly.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Paul DeLong; his wife, Tammie DeLong and sister, Paulette.

Survivors include: his wife, Deidra (Ritter) DeLong of Cape Fair, MO; brother, Doug DeLong of Paris, IL; brother-in-law, Bruce; daughter, Nichole Hickerson (Mark) of Fostoria, IA; son, Michael DeLong (Trish) of Denison, IA; stepchildren, Russell Ritter (Nicole), Megan Beam, Josh Cone and Tristan Beam.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2024, in Stumpff Funeral Chapel, Kimberling City, MO. Interment will be at a later date in Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, MO. Cremation will be under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Kimberling City, MO.
