Verna Mae Ackerson, 90, of Lampe MO, passed away on January 16, 2026. She was born On January 30, 1935 in Pilot Grove, MO to Garland and Dica James.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents Garland and Dica James, her husband, Harold Norman Ackerson, her son, Larry Ackerson, her brother, Garland James, her two sisters, Lee James and JoAnn Dopp, and a great granddaughter Emiley Anne Gant.

She is survived by: her two daughters, Carlene Soptic and Cindy Burkin with her husband David, her brother Jim James, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A service will be held January 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Stumpff Funeral Chapel Kimberling City, MO with Dennis Webb and Glenda Parton officiating. Burial will be in Blue Eye Cemetery, Blue Eye, MO under the direction of Stumpff Funeral home, Kimberling City, MO.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Operation Christmas Child .
