William L. Butterfield, Galena, MO, son of Clyde and Alice (Joachim) Butterfield, was born January 30, 1936, at Lincoln, NE, and departed this life on November 5, 2023, at the age of 87.

William was united in marriage to Gloria Funk.  Together they moved to Galena, MO, from Lincoln, NE, thirty years ago.  He had worked for the State of Nebraska Department of Roads as an engineer before his retirement.

Membership was formerly held in the United Methodist Church, Lincoln, NE and currently in the Hideaway Presbyterian Church in Galena, MO.  William was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriner's.

William is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Butterfield, parents, Clyde and Alice Butterfield and one brother, Jack Butterfield.

He is survived by one son, Robert L. Butterfield of Friend, NE, one daughter, Barbara Lairmore of Vesta, NE, one sister, Susan Lewis of Lincoln, NE and three grandchildren; Jerel Lairmore, Katsy Lairmore and Kendra Lairmore.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the Hideaway Presbyterian Church, Galena, MO.  Cremation is under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home, Kimberling City, MO.
