William Harold Hodges, Jr. Springfield, MO, son of William and Betty Jo (Peters) Hodges, was born on December 28, 1941 in Ventura, CA and departed this life on September 14, 2022, at the age of 80.

Bill was a detective for Ventura County, CA and has lived in the area since 1979, coming from Ventura, CA. He was a member of the NRA and the Crane Christian Church, Crane, MO. In 1983, Bill opened the Pecos Mexican Restaurant in Springfield, MO and then Chew and Chat in 1986 in Crane, MO. In 1989 BAM Cartage was opened in Springfield, MO with his wife Marla and continued to run that business until retirement. He was an avid fisherman and golfer and enjoyed football. Spending time on the lake was his favorite past time. Bill's sharp sense of humor was sure to make you laugh and his stories never got old and he would impress you with his piano and guitar playing…although he couldn't read a note of music.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Hodges; grandson, Shawn Hodges; granddaughter, Emma Perryman and niece, Laurie Hodges.

Survivors include: his wife, Marla Hodges of Springfield, MO; son, William Hodges, III and his wife, Donna of Belton, MO; three daughters, Mary Hodges of Crane, MO, Betty Byrom and her husband, Bob, Jr. of Crane, MO and Sarah Perryman and her husband, Eric of Sparta, MO; sister in law, Deanna Hodges of Crane, MO; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Crane Christian Church Community Building, Crane MO. Cremation was under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane, MO.
